Hair and Makeup Information:
The camera catches everything on your face, and makeup & hair can make all the difference. The MUA will not alter how you look; she will replicate what you would normally look day-to-day, making you look and feel great, and allowing you to focus on the work we do rather than worry about what you look like, fixing hair and makeup yourself. All pictures you see on my page have hired her.
Men’s grooming Is light makeup coverage and hair styling.
Women’s hair and makeup is the style of makeup you would wear day-to-day. Hair is optional but highly encouraged.
Your Picks & Final Gallery
Up to 10 business days after your session, you will receive a gallery of your entire shoot ready to download. You will pick the number of retouched photos that come with your package. If you want more retouched photos, it will be an additional fee of $25 each.
Cancellation Policy: There is a $100 non-refundable deposit when you schedule a session with me that goes towards the total of the session. If you cancel, you will not receive your deposit back. If you have to reschedule and set a specific time and date, I will move that deposit to that session. You are allowed up to 1 reschedule due to conflicts. If you reschedule more than once, I will require a rescheduling fee of $100 that does not go toward the total of your session.
I also do not offer free re-shoots. If you want something different than what we already shot, you can re-book with me for a new shoot! With that, it is important you speak up during your session to get your desired results. Changes to colors and outfit choices cannot be made once the shoot is over and in post-production. I strongly encourage actors to understand and respectfully verbalize their needs and wants as much as they can during the shoot!
FAQs:
Where are you located? How long is a session?
Manhattan, New York. A session will last anywhere between 1-2 hours, depending on the looks you are going to be doing that day.
What is a “look”?
For your headshots, you have booked with me based on the number of looks that you want. A "look" is a change of clothes and backdrop color.
Layering is a great way to jazz up the looks you already have by adding jackets, headbands, jewelry, and nondistracting accessories. If you add a sweater or jacket that completely covers up the look you had on, then that is an additional look that you will be invoiced for.
To request more looks beyond two, please let me know in your inquiry!
Can I purchase a “look” during the session?
Depending on how we are running on time, adding a look is possible! But it is always great to book ahead of time the desired number of looks so that we can set aside that time for you.
Why do I need a hair and makeup artist?
The camera catches everything on your face, and makeup & hair done for you can make all the difference. The HMUA will not alter how you look, rather they will replicate what you would normally look like day-to-day, making you look and feel great, allowing you to focus on the work we do rather than worrying about what you look like, fixing hair and makeup by yourself. All pictures you see on this site have had my HMUA there!
What clothes do I need to bring?
More details on that will follow in the prep sheet sent to you once you have booked.
I’ve never done a headshot session before, I am nervous!
Being nervous and anxious before a headshot session is totally normal! Our HMUA and I are here to calm those nerves for you to look and feel your best. If you haven’t ever had a headshot session before, that is OK! We will guide you during the entire shoot to get you your most successful headshot session yet. Reading through and preparing with the prep sheet will best set you up for success during our session.
Can I bring a friend?
I highly recommend not bringing in anyone else to your session other than yourself. While a friend may make you feel more at ease, being able to focus on yourself and the work we do is the most important task to be done during our session. Having a friend can sometimes be distracting for actors or myself, so being there as the fabulous you is all we could ever need for this! If you are 18 and younger, you can bring a guardian or parent.
I am allergic to your (cute) kittens!
My two Persians do not shed and have low dander, however, I will have allergy meds here for you if you'd like, or feel free to bring what helps you. I will put them into the bathroom during our session so they are not running around and clean my place ahead of time! Just please make a note when booking that you are allergic!
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.
