Over the last 10 years of being in NYC, I have had the pleasure and honor to work with artists of all disciplinaries. I am in the process of creating an accessible network where clients can learn and grow, as well as innovating a way to find resources and connect with the top coaching and guidance in NYC. More to come soon, but for now:

Frankie Ramirez, CSA

Casting Associate at Tara Rubin Casting

A smiling man with dark hair and a beard, wearing a blue shirt, is touching the back of his head with his right hand, standing against a blue and green background.

“Trust that casting has a bigger imagination.”

When you come into a room that I’m in, you’re not just being seen for the role you’re auditioning for — you’re being seen as an artist. The work you bring into the room can spark something much bigger. Yes, I’m focused on the work at hand, but the moment you start performing — whether you’re singing, reading, or dancing — my mind begins to race. I’m imagining other roles, other projects, other possibilities.

That’s the kind of impact a strong performance can have — and to me, that is very exciting.

Scott Freeman

The Freeman Studio

What do you hope your students walk away with beyond just acting skills?

I hope to the actors that I work with are an important sector and element of the society they live in. Without hyperbole or being pretentious, I think actors are healers and have the power to give people something that heals others. Even if it’s laughter, or it’s something that they don’t really think about. I want the actors to be human beings first, because they’re playing human beings. It’s important that they have full, rich lives to draw upon. Art imitates life: if you don’t have any life to draw upon, your art starts to get really stale.

I also want them to be collaborative artists, because acting is a team sport. That kind of selfishness kind of boring.

Be a human being first so that you can play a human being.

Realize your important function in society as an actor.

Be a collaborative, sharing team player.
